All Star Team
The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation benefited from a winning combination organized by the Kenora Safeway store. Local hockey hero Mike Richards put to auction his autographed 2008 Eastern All Star team jersey for his hometown hospital.
Mike generously helps local Kenora charities including the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation. The donation was made possible with the support of Mike’s mom, Mrs. Irene Richards who is a proud Safeway employee.
The winning bid of $1550 on the auction was placed by A.K. & Company (Kenora) Ltd. Mr. Allen Kobylka was glad that he had an opportunity to assist the Hospital Foundation. “It’s a great feeling that I was able to do something nice for my grandson who is developing a hockey memorabilia collection and at the same time contribute to the Foundation”.
This gift will be applied towards the capital equipment costs that allow cataract eye surgeries to be performed in Kenora.
