Community Goodwill
Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation was pleased to receive a generous contribution from Dufresne Furniture. Their philanthropy was inspired by the urgency of the “Healthy Hospital, Healthy Community” infrastructure project taking place at the hospital. The campaign goal of $490,000 leverages the balance of funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for the $4.9 million dollar project.
“We support the Hospital Foundation’s fundraising program”, said Dufresne Furniture store manager, Peter Manicone. “The entire community benefits from the hospital’s services and we felt that a donation is a great way to be involved. Our company looks for ways to make charitable gifts that help as many people as possible.” Mr. Manicone continued, “The explanation as to how the funds will be used made our decision easy.”
Dufresne Furniture store administrator, Simone Roulston added, “it was shocking to learn about the funding hardships that the hospital undergoes.”
“The support of Dufresne Furniture is really appreciated”, accentuated Donna Wallace, Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation Director. “With the great support of local family businesses like Dufresne, we are able to achieve some of our goals that have been set with the hospital. This contribution is a great help.”
