The Hospital Foundation provides a large amount of the necessary funds to purchase and upgrade/update Capital Equipment and Infrastructure. Each year, our goal is to transfer $500,000.00 to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital to purchase equipement etc. on the list they provide to us each year. Most years, however, due to the generosity of the community and our seasonal residents, we are able to transfer in excess of the $500,000.00 we strive for.
Since its inception in 1992, Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation has raised over $10 million dollars. A historical triumph occurred in 2004 when the Picture of Health Campaign reached a successful $6 million dollar conclusion. Additionally, the Hospital has been able to nearly complete a Capital Infrastructure Project, upgrading and updating much of the hospital’s older areas. This has been made possible by generous donations from the community, which the government has matched with $9.00 for each dollar raised. This project is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2010.
