The Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation was pleased with the success of its 11th annual golf tournament organized by the Standard Insurance Brokers Ltd. Proceeds from the tournament raised $22,563.00 for the capital investment needs of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Mr. David Pearce who co-managed the event with Mrs. Christeena Stuart for the Standard Insurance commented that, their company wants to see the hospital as a world class facility. “The 35 employees at the Standard along with their families depend on the hospital for services,” explained Mr. Pearce. “It’s easy to volunteer for something that has a permanent benefit for the community and that it will be there when we need it.”
The 2007 Dream Vacation Lottery has 2 prizes with a the draw scheduled for October 1, 2007. First Prize is a “Best of Hawaii” 10 day trip for two. Prize includes round trip airfares from Winnipeg to Honolulu, inter-island flights, accommodations and tours.
