Thursday, July 28th was a beautiful day to host a golf tournament. 132 golfers came out to the Kenora Golf & Country Club to participate in our 15th Annual Charity Golf Classic.
With some great sponsors, including Diamond Sponsors Star Building Materials and MNP, great golfers and great auction items, we had another record year, raising over $46,000 for capital equipment at our hospital!
This year was the 15th anniversary of the Hospital Foundation Annual Golf Tournament, and we would like to thank each of the organizations and people who have helped us achieve such astounding success with this event. Most importantly, we’d like to thank you, our golfers, who, through rain or shine, bogey or hole-in-one, have supported us in this effort. Big thanks to the Standard Insurance, who took the role of major sponsor from year one until MNP took over the reins, bringing us increasing success year to year.
Thanks is also due to David Pearce who has worked tirelessly for each of the 15 years to help us put on a hiccup-free tournament.
We are always excited for our golfers who win one of our great prizes. One of the best parts is when one of our golfers gets a hole-in-one and wins big! CONGRATULATIONS to Richard Trochimchuk who did just that! Rick won a lovely hot tub courtesy of Don Carson & Krevco Lifestyles! Another big winner was Qualico’s Brian Hastings, who won the shootout on the 18th hole and won $1000! Ever the generous fellow, Brian promptly donated his winnings back to the foundation.
Finally, one very important thank you goes to our Volunteers. From set-up to tear-down and everything in between, we have a great group of people every year who help to make the day run smoothly.
