This Year’s Capital Needs

Each year the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation reimburses the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for the capital budget priorities of the healthcare facility. The generosity of donors allows the hospital to invest in medical equipment, information technology and building & maintenance concerns. Every department in the hospital benefits from the donation activity that is realized by the Hospital Foundation.

The objective of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation annual fundraising campaign is to maintain and purchase equipment essential for offering patients healthcare in the Lake of the Woods region comparable to any facility across the country.

Over the last 10 years, annual campaigns have supported an impressive list of medical equipment investments. Just in the last year alone, donations helped the hospital purchase a new Colonoscope, a Cardiac Stress System, Computer Software and a Microbiology Analyzer.

The capital priorities for the hospital this year include a Coagulation Analyzer for the Laboratory, a Video Tower and a Gastroscope for Surgical Services, a Digitized EKG for the Intensive Care Unit and Heat Exchange Sterilizers. All of this equipment has a significant and immediate impact on the provision of healthcare in the Kenora area.
